A REFLECTION AND REVIEW OF MY PROJECTS IN BA1b

FASHION PUBLICATIONS - P1

This project gave me a lot of insight on how it's like working to launch a magazine, by walking me through the vital steps.

Staying perspective, communicative and open minded helped to merge everyone's personalities together. We created Pinterest boards, used documents to plan, Instagram group chats, spider diagrams and location meets to practice for our pitch presentation and finalize our media pack.

Working in a group and prepping for the pitch presentation I enjoyed the least. It was a challenge thinking with everyone not just on my own and not having that sense of control to do my own thing. However, now I feel more acceptant of group work as I'm less afraid to give my ideas too.

I enjoyed the business side of making the most. The photoshoot could've been better in showing diversity but we presented this verbal idea through the media packs and presentation greatly.

FASHION MARKETING REPORT - P2

The marketing report was my favorite but most intellectual project, where I had put a heavy amount of research into. Trying to learn from past feedback, where I had written the report in first person and not third. This made me work slower as I wasn't sure if I was still doing the right things when writing.

SWOT ANALYSIS

BRAND ONION

Gaining understanding on sustainable manufacture, product making and brand's history through brand onions, infographics, swot and pest analysis helped me manage information better/set a nicer layout.

I'm happy with how these graphs turned out, suiting my style and color palette of the brand. I tend to get the reports completed very fast, this makes it harder as over the weeks I'd learn more things that need to be written about meaning I'd have to go back and change it or miss out some of the vital parts.

PHYSICAL BRANDED ASSETS - P3

I'm not the best in designing physical products. This made me procrastinate until the final days. But I ended up pulling it together by spending a full day making stickers via photoshop for it to end up looking professional and on theme.

I was challenging myself to draw harder stickers by trying to think too much outside the box. But when I do this it always ends up bad as I don't stick to my own style. I had written a 16 page slide document to document the two week process but I ended up not needing it.

FASHION INDUSTRY AWARENESS - P4

My second most favorite unit, I felt very impressed with myself in how fast my ideas on who to write about came about than before and creativity, it speaks the story I wanted it to tell from the clean, smokey layout to the fashion influences.

Taking a 2-4 days break in between each blog, laying out each page prehand and making extra copies of my written work kept me organized. There is limited typography options on the site and style. But I worked well with what I had by adding images/ collages to enhance it. It has really helped me to gain guidance in the fashion industry and get to know myself more.
